Thank you!
This reply has been marked as private.@ Paolo: Yes, there is one and I added it, but can I add it twice or even more times? I thought the variables had to be unique. They are not changeable by the admin.
@alex: That’s exactly what I did, but unfortunately this method didn’t work. Can you please try for yourself? The credentials are provided in my second post.
Thanks Paolo. I was hoping for a more user/customer friendly solution and thought it could easily be done following this thread:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/2-or-more-video-problem/
Will there be an option to have 2 or more „normal“ video input fields in a future version?
Regards,
MartinThank you Guust, I’ve read about this option. Would extra tabs be possible to achieve right now? The reason is that I want this function only to be available in a paid listing.
This reply has been marked as private.Hi Stiofan,
Sorry for responding so late. The disadvantage is that if a message pops up, the typical user gets alerted and tries to read it, even more if this text message contains a link in the text. But the text is displayed way too short to be readable in its full length. And if a Check Out button on a page is sort working without being activated by a user, this certainly interferes with DSGVO/GDPR compliance.
Checkout and payment procedures are always sensitive tasks, and auto redirect will confuse the user at this point unnecessarily. Can I please get the code to switch back to the non auto redirect behavior of this page? And maybe you should consider to rework this issue in the next release.
Regards,
MartinThank you Alex, that’s exactly what I was keen to hear 😉
Keep up the good work guys!
Regards,
MartinThank you Guust. What I tried to say is that the styling/design AND behavior of the text excerpt needs fixing.
1. Safari ads a grey gradient, which does not correspond with the design of my website (please note screenshot 1).
2. The read more button is kind of an overlay, which would be okay, but…
…3. it expands the text to to its full length (loosing any styling like headline, line breaks, lists and so on) instead of taking the user to the listing itself (please note screenshot 2).
To sum up:
I – and I know of at least one other member of this forum 😉 – need the V1 styling and behavior of the text excerpt. I want to be able to set the number of characters displayed in the excerpt (and not by limiting the max hight of this text block so that the lines are being cropped), followed by an inline „read more“ text, which functions as a link and takes the user to the actual listing.
If the read more button only expands the text, the user might think there is nothing more to show and will miss to visit the beautifully styled listing detail page.
How could this be achieved? I could even live with the CSS code for max hight and a styled button, if this ist your preferred way of styling text excerpts in V2, but please let me know how to link the read more button to the details page, and consider this to be a feature of the next release.
Many thanks an regards,
MartinThanks Guust, I wish everything would be as easy as that for me 😉
I really hope you guys will reenable the old V1 way of styling the text excerpt and read more button (vanished for some reason, please note screenshot sample).
Regards,
MartinMay I chime in?
I would also love to get the V1 behavior and styling of text excerpt and read more button.
Alex, I tried your suggestion of altering CSS, but the result wasn’t any good. In the meantime I would rather hide excerpt and read more by adding this CSS:
.geodir-field-post_content { display: none !important; }
Will the „old feature“ be back in a future version?

MartinHello Kiran,
I’m about to go live with my site on March 1st, so maybe I just wait for the official version .46 and keep my fingers crossed.
Thank you and your team for developing V2!

And just in case someone else would like to know about the code snippets you guys kindly provided – the winner is: Kor! But Guust closely came in second 😉
Problem solved. Thank you!
