Hello Alex, you have issues with your website, I can’t see anything but your background . Please try deactivating all the non-gd plugin you have installed, and retry. Please also post your login details in a private reply so we can have a deep look at it.
ThanksHi, this will require some other modifications, I can do that along with the social icon alignment (VK)
Hello Alex, Ubermenu is a major plugin (with a lot of queries), so unless you cannot live without it, I would avoid it 🙂
To make it work fine with GD, please ensure that in the settings, the Google map isn’t loaded (there is an option for that) otherwise you will have a conflict with the google map call made by GD. To add the location switcher, just assign the menu in GD as yo u would normally do, it should work, and remember, you can use a shortcode for that too
Hmm… it depends on your host..to be sure, I would split this list into three files, it just takes a minute 🙂
Hello Stacey, that could be a limitation set by your host, however if we are talking of biiig numbers, it is recommended to chunk your file in pieces
Hello Marsha, this is happening because you’re using the geodir_avada_child theme, this is no longer needed because avada now supports GeoDirectory natively
Hi Scott, if you mean the full width page without sidebar, this depends on the theme you’re using, and you can set GD to have a content area of 100% with no sidebars, you can find the settings in the Design page.
You can display all the category for a given post type, not for all post types together.
With the GD-Search widget, you will be able to search..there are also a bunch of shortcodes you can use, in this page http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/core-shortcodes/
Hello Alex. please check your wordpress permalink, they should be set to /%postname%/ (note the trailing slash).
If the issues remain, please post your url and login details in a private replyHi David, I can see your point and I understand your concern, but I believe the team has developed this behavior mainly because of the feedbacks of users and not because “we like it this way”. I strongly believe no one want to give hard times to users. I can talk about your feedback to Stiofan and Paolo, so eventually expect a reply here.
Sorry, the autocorrector, corrected TO RESET in TOURIST, what I also meant, IN ADDITION to add a location switcher is
to reset your location you can either click on the breadcrumb, for example United Kingdom – Reading, click on United Kingdom, or you can provide a link to yourdomain/places (or whatever is your places page) that will also reset the site to “everywhere”.
So you can also use this way.
You can also put the location switcher as a shortcode, where you want (sidebar, etc..) and you can also use a list of cities/region you want, not ALL of the location you have on the website.Im afraid but in a way or in another you must unlock the location stored when someone visits a city, and you can do that in the ways I’ve explained.
In your scenario, I will add a link somewhere (maybe in the menu?) that redirect tot he GLOBAL listings, so people will search globally. This links points to your places page
yes, clicking on the compass icon in the search
Hello Marsha, could you provide FTP details so I can bug and let you know what’s wrong?
You can enable disable geolocate on first load
Ok so I suppose you are not using the location switcher (you can enable it in the gd settings, Multilocation, first you need to assign a menu in gd in Design/navigation tab).
tourist your location you can either click on the breadcrumb, for example United Kingdom – Reading, click on United Kingdom, or you can provide a link to yourdomain/places (or whatever is your places page) that will also reset the site to “everywhere”.Hello, if it is redirecting to /me it means you have allowed to share your location (a popup will appear) and so it is redirecting you to the closest city where you are located. You can switch it off in the Advanced search settings
