Thanks, Alex. Looking forward to hearing what they say.

Ok, I’ll let them know then. Sounds like a good solution to me. Thanks Paolo.
In my experience GiveWP has a great dev and support team and is very welcoming of talking about solutions.
Do you want me to pass that that message on to them or would you want to have a talk with them about that? Maybe an integration between GiveWP and WP Easy Uploads?
Hey Kiran and Alex,
I contacted GiveWP about this and they offered to discuss with you about a better way to check for licensing – *See below. I understand the need for this and the difficulty don’t imagine it will be fixed anytime soon, so for now I’ll take Alex’s suggestion and just deactivate WP Easy Uploader and activate it when we need to check for updates. This obviously isn’t ideal as it creates a potential security risk if updates include patches for vulnerabilities, but it will just mean our team will have to be mindful of updates. What’s the best way for us to track GeoDirectory updates manually?

Hi Paul,
Here’s what’s going on on the plugins pages: you are correct that it is a conflict of some sort with the WP Easy Updates plugin. Basically that plugin is a custom bit of code by the GeoDirectory folks that connects their individual add-ons to their licensing server.
It’s a known issue within the Give ecosystem that loading the plugins page with multiple add-ons active it gets a little slower. Often into the 4-5 or even 6-7 second range. That’s because on every page load of that page, it has to go out to check on the Give server to see if the license is active, etc. Sidenote: that’s why it was only showing up on one of those sites (the one with all of the Give add-ons active) and not the other.
That issue is one that we are aware of, and looking into how we might alleviate all of those license checks in the future.
On your sites, because of that custom bit of code from the GeoDirectory folks, it looks like it is exacerbating the issue a bit. To be honest, if we had 30 or 40 Give add-ons active using the current method of licensing, just Give would probably cause that long of a delay. SO it might not be an issue, so much as the fact that your site has the check 30 individual licenses between Give and GeoDirectory, so loading the plugins page just takes a while.
The good news is that our plugin only checks for those licenses on that page, and never anywhere else. So end users are never going to have to be inconvenienced.
If the AYEcode folks want to chat about this, please encourage them to contact us using the contact form on our site, and we are happy to interface with how we can optimize how our plugins work together. But my gut feeling is that, for now, this is the best case scenario.
Thanks for reaching out, and I am going to make sure our developers see this issue.
Ok, that’s exactly what I was looking for. I think I hid the my account widget. I’ll have to unhide it and mess around with it. Thanks for the explanation and for the link to the developers page. I needed both. Have a good day.

If this isn’t possible how can I link to the author’s page from one site so that users can easily access the page to edit their listings?
