April 26, 2017 at 9:47 pm in reply to: How to add another text field like the listing description #375629
Hi one more thing related to adding the “HTML” section to my add listing page.
See attachments “html.jpeg” so you can see all the field in my new “HTML” field I added. The problem is that when someone enters anything in these field the title description repeats twice. Once correctly as the title and one more time at the top of the description content. See attachment “repeating_title.jpg”. How can I fix that?
Note that title repeats twice in detail page: “Advice, Tips, Ideas, Guide, How to, Best Practice for …, Charts, or any event related educational material”
Thank you.
OK,
So I want to put check box that must be accepted at the buttom of “Claim Listing”, it should have a link next to it pointing to the terms and conditions, so they can read the terms and conditions by clicking on the link. The send button should complain if the terms and conditions check box is not clicked.
This is exactly like the ‘add listing’ form. At the button it has a check box that must be clicked or the submit button will not allow you to submit.
So I started by trying to figure out where to add this new check box in the “Claim Listing” form. I looked at “https://github.com/GeoDirectory/geodirectory/tree/master/geodirectory-templates” templates and I can not find the “Claim Listing” template.
Can you let me know where to find the “Claim Listing” template? and any other advice on how to get this done will be helpful.
I think this makes a great sample code to have handy for other user, since everyone should be having their clients agree to terms and conditions when claiming a listing.
Thank you.
Hi,
I though we were not supposed to make changes to our theme or child theme because future updates would overwrite our changes. So instead of adding the code to my …/themes/supreme-directory/functions.php, can I add the code using my “snippets” plug in as I have for other changes?
Thanks,
Great, thank you!
It is working now.
Just curious, Did you just fix it in my system? Because I have not done any theme updates. Will these fix be present in future theme updates?
Thank you.
Great,
Thank you very much. It is working now.
I see that you changed one setting in the permalinks. I had no idea this would have that side effect.Any ways,
Thank you. This reply has been marked as private.Hi Guss,
I already have both of those enabled. Those setting allow for the terms and conditions to appear toward the bottom of the listing page when I am adding a service. The problem here is different.
Try claiming on of my listing in my website. I entered those listing manually with my user ID from the old website to these new one, now I need the owners to claim their listings and force them to accept the terms and conditions.I will send you my website info below in a private message.
Try claiming any of the listings, they are all unclaimed now. You sill see that you go through the whole process and it never asked you to accept terms and conditions. Thanks,

If the problem is BuddyPress, I am willing to remove it.
I moved my website from the old geotheme to this geodirectory. I have migrated about 100 listing and have emails everyone to claim their listing but when they visit their listing via the link I provided and then they try to claim the listing they get booted out to another page and they don’t know how to get back to their listing other then by having to search it.If you can fix this so that the regular login does not re-direct to home page than I would be willing to remove BuddyPress. Let me know when that gets fixed.
Thank you.
RigoGreat,

I just went live with my site and noticed this side effect and it would be great to fix.Thank you.

If I understand correctly from the link you provided above, you already have then new invoicing code but you guys are working on how to smoothly upgrade you old invoices to your new invoicing. The old invoicing seems to work fine to me, the only problem was the emails were showing up form “WordPress” but I installed a plug in by the name of “WP Mail From II” and that solved that problem.
Are there any other problem with the invoicing that I am not aware about, such as it being unstable or something like that?
If there are no mayor problem with the old (current) invoicing, then I may stick to that until the new invoicing becomes stable.
Thank you.
OK, I searched this up online and it looks like all the from wordpress come from WordPress with email address of [email protected].
I used a plug in by the name of “WP Mail From II”, so I can specif my company name and my company email address, so my the email from wordpress now show the correct from name and email address.
So this issue is solved. And it also solved this same issue that I had with my invoicing emails.
Regards,
