You said this to me Paolo:
“Given that probably you will have 100 requests (you already had several) like this by the time you finish your website, I prefer to stop you right away.”
You’re suggesting that if a customers makes too many requests then you don’t want them as a paying customer. I’ve made about 3 requests in the past two months – moving my logo, asking for some buttons and a home page shuffle around so that the widgets line up next to each other. That’s nothing.
Now, I’ve been constructive with my suggestions on the public support forum and you’ve arrogantly shut them down and said you’d prefer that I didn’t continue with my subscription. Tell me is that reasonable? I haven’t been rude. I’ve been constructive. You’re being completely unprofessional. I want to raise this point with your manage and the owner of this organisation.
Thank youThis reply has been marked as private. This reply has been marked as private. So, essentially what you’re saying Paolo is that if somebody wants to move the position of their logo or add a few menu buttons, they have to pay more money to a developer.
I’m extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with this and for me i think it may well be the end of the road with this directory. I bought this theme on the basis that:
1. “The world’s most advanced and scalable WordPress directory plugin”
2. “Build and style it your way”
3. “A dedicated, distributed team”
4. “Maybe you need help figuring something out, or perhaps you need a hook we did not supply. No worries, just hit us up in the Forum we can’t wait to hear from you. You can look forward to a friendly and fast response from a human being, totally competent to solve your problem.”
5. “It’s that simple. Whoop! supports two widgetized menus, in the header and footer. Easily add your logo, search boxes, navigation, links and copyright text.”Now, look closely at number 5 – “easily add your logo, search boxes, navigation..”. You’re telling me that I need to speak with a developer, which is going to cost me more money just so that I can add a few buttons to my menu? That is not the “style it your way” that I would expect for something so basic and simple. I feel that I’ve bought something which doesn’t do what it said it could do and really what I feel i’ve discovered is you offer a false sense of security to users like me who expect to be able to do these things easily. I don’t think asking for a few menu buttons in the header is an unreasonable request and it certainly wouldn’t require 100s of developers to implement. Many, many modern websites have this and it’s something very easy to add on site builders like Wix or Weebly.
I genuinely feel that you’re closing the door on my small and simple request of a few menu buttons, it’s not something that requires loads of developers like you state and I’ve been a paying customer for couple of months now. It’s a shame because I thought everything was coming along fine until I’ve reached this hurdle and I’m turned away from the support team and I can’t build what I want to without any support.
Well that’s the small print and I didn’t expect this before I paid my money and I’m going to have to seriously think if I should continue with my subscription or not.
But I don’t know any code for buttons so I can’t do it
OK, I really would like some menu buttons on my site and my site looks cheap without them and unprofessional. Is there anything you can suggest to help me put them on? thanks
