I don’t see any point in making a video.. I go to the homepage. Select intercambios. Type madrid into the 3rd box ( and untick near me). Then hit search. That’ all i’m doing, are you able to take a look at the caching on siteground or anything else in my wordpress login? All the login details are what I posted before.
ThanksIt’s not ticked. This is what I get:
Still the same i’m afraid- it only shows one event if you type just ‘madrid’ and not select what it recommends.
This reply has been marked as private. If it’s problems with caching I have GD booster activated so it should be working as it should. Is there anything we can try to sort the caching issue?
thanks
This reply has been marked as private.I still get the same problem for Madrid and you merged them together a few days ago. Also disabling the ajax near doesn’t bring up all the events if you just search ‘madrid’, it only brings up two of the. Is there anything else to try?
thanksYeah that’s what i’ve had to do.
Hi again,
still getting the same issue as before with the event search..
If you select Intercambios for custom post type search from the drop down box and then depending on if you type just the city name, e.g. ‘valencia’ or select ‘Valencia (region)’ or ‘Valencia (city)’ it will display perhaps only 1 upcoming event. But if you select what the recommendation is that pops up it will find all of the events. The only reason i’m bothered about this is because not everyone who searches will think to choose those options and so they won’t see all of the events that are upcoming. If you can offer a solution to this that will really help out.
ThanksHi again,
well I did but they told me to ask you! So i’m stuck in limbo..
This reply has been marked as private.I just checked I had siteground’s caches switched on still. They tell me that all of this will make my website faster but I hope GD’s is just as good or better. I’ve turned it off and the blog isn’t asking to gelocate now so that’s great. I’ll look at the other issues and if i’m still getting problems i’ll let you know. Thanks
I was using site grounds cache but Guust told me to disable that so the only one i have now is GDbooster
Another problem I’m having is not displaying all of the upcoming events if you run a search. Say for example you select Intercambios for custom post type search from the drop down box and then depending on if you type just the city name, e.g. ‘valencia’ or select ‘Valencia (region)’ or ‘Valencia (city)’ it will display perhaps only 1 upcoming event. And I don’t think any of my events have either just the city or just the region in the address.
All this just confuses users and will turn them away so it’s very important. Is there anything that can be done to address all of these issues? It seems like there is one after the other with the search function.
ThanksHi again,
yeh I turned it off but it still asks if you want to be geolocated on the blog page
