We’ve tried widget logic as well, but when we add the category slug, it’s not working.
For instance, if I use widget logic to add this conditional tag to a widget, it’s not displaying on the sonoma-wineries archive page.
is_post_type_archive(‘gd_place’) && is_category( ‘sonoma-wineries’ )
The widget does display in the archive if I don’t use any tag or if I just use is_post_type_archive(‘gd_place’).
Is our syntax wrong for the category logic? I’ve also tried in_category as shown in the the GDv2 documentation, but I think that in_category is used for displaying on individual posts with that category and not on the archive page.
This is the page where it should display:

July 20, 2019 at 2:00 pm in reply to: How to display category page title on archive template? #498734I’m using Divi. I’d like to display the category title so it look like this text overlay “Find the best…” https://www.winetasting.com/winery/bay-area-urban-wineries/ This works fine for GDV1. In GD V1, I used the above code in the GD Listing Top Section widget, but am not sure how to add this to the archive template in v2.

Any other ideas?

Once again, kudos to the excellent GD support. You set the standard in tech support.
Alex, I am looking forward to trying GDV2. However, I depend on most of the GD add-ons and I believe that they are still in beta.
September 12, 2018 at 11:47 pm in reply to: create near me button which functions like the compass near me option? #446345That’s a good idea to isolate the compass icon with CSS. But is it possible to set it up so that it runs a search on click without it first opening up the dialog with the “near me” box and distance slider?
Thanks Guust. GD support rocks. I forget to check CSS in the theme customizer. It’s time for me to consolidate all my css in various places.
Just to be clear, I think your answer is about the primary wordpress description field, right? I know that I can limit the characters there using the pricing manager, but I was asking about setting limits and stripping html in a custom textarea field added through place settings.
That field is just for a text description, so it shouldn’t affect other pages or blogs.
I think it’s a little misleading that the field is called textarea but it can accept html from the frontend.
