Hello Kor,
I added an SSL. The geolocation prompt seems to work good with internet explorer, but doesn’t prompt at all with google. Can this be fixed?
Thanks,
Dave
Hello Kor,
The geolocation works, it just doesn’t prompt users when they first enter the site. Instead, it prompts them after they’ve selected which category they would like to go to, after which it sets the geolocator and then requires them to start their search all over again. It’s at this point that the geolocator is set for the user and is issue free. Even without the SSL, the geolocator works with almost every browser except google. For instance, outside of the issue that I’m concerned with, it works great with internet explorer. How do I get the geolocator to prompt the user as soon as they enter the site? I’m not sure that users like when their search gets reset. I would rather the site geolocate them before they start searching.
Thanks,
Dave
Thanks for helping me fix this.

Hello Stiofan,
This works better on my phone.
I have three additional questions:
1. Would it also work good on android phones and non apple devices?
2. Was it the age of my phone (I phone 4) that was causing the issue with the original settings?
2. If it was my phone, is there a way for me to easily change it back to its original settings in the future? I think that the google directions nav may be superior to the apple maps nav and I just want to make sure that the majority of visitors are using the nav that’s most helpful to them. In this, I know that many people may already have a more up to date phone that may possibly work good with the original google directions nav settings.Thank you in advance for all your help, you guys are awesome!

Thank you for your responses. I’m using an I Phone 4 with Safari as my browser. Could this be the issue? Because some visitors may have an older phone as I do, they may run into the same issue. To help them, is it possible for them to have the option to easily copy and paste the address so that they can put it into any directions app? Maybe the whole address highlights with one click, followed by a copy button pop up? This of course would be in addition to the get directions tab already available and would simply give visitors another option with getting directions.
Thank You,
Dave

I’ll look into that.

Hello Kor,
Thanks for your response. Do you think it would be possible with customization through a third party?
Thanks,
Dave
Hello Guust,
I understand that the current design will not allow for what I’m looking for. In your opinion, do you think it would be possible if I had a third party do some customization?
Thanks,
Dave

It’s still not working even if I add a specific city and/or specific address. Featured listings from hundreds of miles away are still appearing along with local ones. Can this be fixed?
Thanks,
Dave
