Thanks for fixing it so quickly Stifoan

So is it true that I actually do have to keep my paid subscription going if I want the addons to continue functioning? I was under the impression that things would still work no matter what updates came out I couldn’t get, I just wouldn’t get the improvements.

If this is the case I’m a bit miffed, because a) I have to keep paying indefinately, which is not the impression I got before buying and b) It’s going to be really problematic when I’m away from the pc ie on holiday, with updates coming out every couple of days, parts of the directory could stop functioning at any moment and it looks like I have to constantly check for updates.

I still have 3 add ons showing as red, I can’t find a way to update them in the plugin menu. Do I have to delete them and manually download the plugin every time from the site? Won’t this delete my settings? I have my details in the auto update section, shouldn’t I be able to do it from the plugin screen?

Also, what actually caused the original problem with all the code showing here? It got me in a real panic! :/

    Thanks

    Sally

Also, there appears to be no option on the front end ‘my dashboard’ to add an event?

    Hi Guust

Does this mean I can only do this for /dogfriendly and /location?

Is there any hope of an addon anytime to make the above possible? I think if I went onto a directory and clicked on a category, I would expect a list of items in that category to show up when I did, but maybe that’s just me? :/

Even if I could make the widget different for each and every cpt, that would work, but I’m guessing this won’t be possible?

    Thanks

    Sally

Ok, managed to get all listings to show under a category when using the search drop down thingy, but just wondering, is there a way to also get this to show when clicking on the cpts in the map ribbon? At the moment, every click on those results in the map changing (I set it to the home map on both home and listing), but I get the ‘popular posts’ widget in the content unless using the dropdown search… would really like a click on the map ribbon to lead to a list of available listings in that section if at all possible?

    Hope this makes sense 🙂

Also curious about what Brian said.

I’m just setting up my prices and when testing have noticed that when I have recurring payments set to 5 times (the max I can do, but I would rather it was just indefinatly until cancelled) the user when paying sees on the paypal page that they will be charged yearly, 5 times. This is a bit off putting I think. If I saw that, I would question whether I really wanted to go through with the payment, because it looks like I’m tying myself into a 5 year contract. At best I would query it with the company, which would be frustrating after I’ve just written my listing out, but at worst I’d just wonder what their game was and not bother..

Is there a way to not have to enter a number, but the recurring payments happen anyway unless they cancel it themselves?

    Thanks 🙂

Thanks for pointing that out purpleedge, I didn’t realise it did that on other devices. Would be interested to know how to fix it 🙂

    Thanks Paolo

Changing the map width as we speak. Didn’t realise I could use percentages 🙂

I’m having a little trouble with the css code at the moment, but have just realised I’m talking about it on 2 separate posts, sorry. I’ll continue over at https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/map-not-working-when-adding-a-listing/ with this 🙂

    Thanks again

Ok, WPMU directory deactivated, all listings now on the new geodirectory located at http://www.thehouseofdog.co.uk/dogfriendly/

I still have some remaining issues. I’ll number them to make it easier, if anyone could shed any light on what I can do to fix them that would be great 🙂

    1. Is it possible to make all links nofollow within the directory? I think this is pretty important both for my SEO and the businesses which list on the directory. With my wpmu directory, they gave me a plugin which made all http/https links clickable and automatically nofollow. This seems to work across pretty much the entire website, even in articles and blog posts, but it doesn’t seem to work for my geodirectory links. Perhaps this is because they’re already links and don’t need to be made ‘clickable’? Is there a way to get them all nofollow, including social media links and website links etc?

    2. Still having issues with the styling of the menu bar shown below the map, as seen in the screenshot attached above.

    3. I’m trying to get some related listings to show in the content section on the /dogfriendly page, but I’ve tried adding a GD> Related Listing widget in the GD Home Content Section area, and nothing appears. Am I doing it wrong? At the moment I just seem to have this big blank white space 🙁

I fixed the missing listings problem, which was being caused by me not having those listings in a category (doh, stupid me!)

Working on putting the menu items where I want them to be now, just wanted to get all listings transferred to the new directory before making it all public.

Any help with the above would be very gratefully received 🙂

    Thanks

    Sally

    Hi Guust

    Thanks for your help.

The other directories are going for sure. I’m just in the process of copying all the listings to Geodirectory and should have this done this morning, so I’ll see what remains afterwards and post back here if I’m still having issues.

It’d be interesting to know how I can update the plugins, I have my details the in autoupdate section, but nothing ever shows as needing to be updated. I wonder if I’ve done this wrong. Hmmm will sort out these listings now anyway and see where I stand then 🙂
