Since migrating from PHPMYDIRECTORY I have lost a considerable chunk of traffic, I have tried to add 301 redirects with a plugin but found that causes issues elsewhere so I have had to drop that (and will have to add as htaccess instead).

I am looking to improve the 404 page as currently its not very useful to anyone who sees it.

Please could you tell me how I can adjust the layout of the 404 page, I can’t see this in ‘pages’, I would like to add perhaps a main category block, and latest blogs in an effort to persuade visitors to explore further.

That depends on your theme, but usually there is a 404.php file in the parent theme folder. Move that to your child theme and adjust as required.

    Thanks
