Hi.
I have a few questions about using Multi-Locations to achieve what I hope to achieve. So far, I’m not entirely sure I understand whether or not I’m fighting the design of the app or perhaps it’s actually a matter of doing things JUST RIGHT.
Let’s say that I wanted to build a guide to ski resorts in the Tahoe area. That’s not exactly my use case, but close enough.
The questions I have are:
- Can I create arbitrary locations, like North Tahoe and South Tahoe? These aren’t official names of anything, but I’d like to cluster certain listings that way. Is that a location, a region (can those be made up?), or neighborhood?
- If I CAN make up a location called North Tahoe, can I set the “location” arbitrarily too, or do I have to pick something that exists?
- Let’s say I’ve already created locations for South Lake Tahoe (a real city), and Truckee (a real city), but when I use the location switcher, South Lake gets the city view and Truckee is just a single location on a global map. Is this because of the number of listings I have in Truckee (one) versus South Lake Tahoe (5)? Can this be controlled in other ways?
I guess I’m trying to understand the correct mindset for Location > Region (State? something else) > City > Neighborhood.
Thanks in advance.
