I’ve read just about every post on the forum plus I’ve searched everywhere, but I can’t find an answer to the most simple of questions. How do I add categories?

I’m using a slider plugin with GD child theme. Is there a way to display different sliders according to which category is being viewed. For example when someone is looking at restaurants, can I have a specific slider displayed. Thanks

No need to use another plugin, just add the GD slider widget to your location (GD Home) and/or category pages (GD Listing).

Appearance > widgets > GD Listing Slider

    Yes,
Appearance > widgets > GD Listing Slider > GD Listing TOP

    Thanks Guust,
What I want to do is this: suppose I have some sliders (slider1, slider2, slider3) which are independent from what is in the GD database. So, when a user is looking at listings in the restaurants category, i want to display slider1, and if a user is looking at a listing or browsing the hotels category I want to display slider2 and so on. I’n using GD child theme
    Thanks

The GD slider widget does not adapt to the location or category.
You can only use one slider per page (template).
So what you are asking is not possible with the GD slider.

If you want to use another slider that adjusts to the page content, you would need some custom coding.

This would not be theme dependent.
