Add GD Map with Featured Places Only

    Hi,

    i’m adding maps with places on non-GD pages and was wondering if there is a setting or filter to only show Featured Places on a map.

    Example:
    https://getdirections.asia/southeast-asia-travel-guides/thailand-travel-guide/phuket-travel-guide/rawai-travel-guide/

    Under the heading ‘Featured Places in Rawai’ is a map that shows all places Rawai. It is followed by a widget that only shows the featured places in Rawai. So it would make sense for the visitor that the map only shows those listings on the map.

    You could use this code where you manually pick the places you want to show:
    [gd_map width=”100%” height=”425px” maptype=”ROADMAP” zoom=”0″ map_type=”post” post_type=”gd_place” post_id=”31,35,182″]

    That is the closest possible.

    Hi Guust, that would be manageable at this stage, but when we cover cities all over Southeast Asia that might become unmanageable. Could this be something that can be added in a future release?

    The way to do this is to allow featured listings access to certain categories, and then have a map filtered to just those categories.

    Hi Alex, my question is in regards to locations, so it would be for all categories. I would like to show a map, if possible, with only featured listings in locations like Bangkok, and Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur, and Malaysia, and Thailand, and so on…so cities, regions and countries.

    Right, so you could add new categories that are only available for listings that are featured.

    I have taken up the idea of filtering by featured as a suggestion.
