I’m trying to add the “Add Listing Shortcode” to a new page I created using my Enfold theme. I’m assuming that I don’t have to use the “Add Listing” page that was created when I installed the GeoDirectory plugin, correct?
I tried inserting a couple variations of the shortcode that I found here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-shortcodes/.
I tried this one: [gd_add_listing]. I also tried this one: [gd_add_listing listing_type=gd_event login_msg=”Please register and login to submit listings” show_login=true].
Neither of those options display anything on this page: http://denvermediapro.com/get-listed-test/. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?
Also, in the process of experimenting, I believe I’ve damaged the GeoDirectory “Add Listing” page. Is there a way to fix that page or download a new one?
Thanks!
September 19, 2016 at 1:25 am #268495Hi Curt,
It’s hard to tell without seeing the backend and doing some inspecting. Do you think you can share WP temp admin access to your site so we can take a better look? You can post the details here using the private reply option below. Also, could you tell us a little bit more about the damaged “Add Listing” page? Do you mind sharing a screenshot of the issue there?
Thanks!

if you add the shortcode in a custom page, you shouldn’t select that page as the add listing page in GD >> permalinks, or GD will try to add the form twice, however it appears that the Avia Builder isn’t able to parse our shortcode. It works on a normal page though.
I asked to the developers to check and let us know,
Thanks
September 20, 2016 at 5:29 pm #269811Hi Curt,
The add listing SC is special, it compleatly takes over the page template, all other SC should work as expected.
Thanks,
Stiofan
September 21, 2016 at 10:00 pm #270760Thanks for the update. It’s a bummer that the Add Listing short code can’t be make to work within my Enfold pages. Is that something you’d consider looking into?
Also, I have not received an answer to one of my original questions about how I fix the Add Listing page that I deleted.
Thanks!
September 21, 2016 at 10:11 pm #270795Hi,
to add back the add listing page go to GD Tools and run the utility to check the GD Pages.
Otherwise simply create a new page, call it add listing or whatever you want and than assign it in GD >> Permalinks as the new add listing page.
Thanks
September 21, 2016 at 10:22 pm #270834Thanks for that response. I ran the GD Tools utility to check the page. It says that the Add Listing Page existed and it had proper settings. However, there wasn’t an Add Listing page since I delete it. So, I’m not sure how that could be possible.
So, I followed your second instruction and created a new page called “Add Listing.” Then, I set that as the Add Listing Page in GD >> Permalinks and it worked.
I’m really hoping you guys will consider getting that short code to parse in the Avia Layout Builder. For someone like myself who has limited coding skills, it would be so much simpler to customize my pages in Enfold.
That said, I appreciate your efforts on this plugin. Thank you.
September 21, 2016 at 10:27 pm #270839If GD Tools didn’t fix it, the page was probably still in your trash bin.
It will be impossible to make the add listing page work on the avia builder I’m sorry. As Stiofan said that shortcode is special and it needs to take over the template completely to work.
You can add content on top of the add listing page using the normal text editor for the newly create page. Probably even with the avia builder, but the form will be the last element of that page and it can’t be added via shortcode.
Thanks
