Hello support,
I am setting up the database of listings for my new geodirectory. Owners of listings then can claim their listing and fill it with pictures, etc.
To make the directory more attractive BEFORE the owners claim their listings, I would love to add pictures to at least some of the “unclaimed” listings.
As far as I understand, therefore I have to copy the image from a company’s website, save it on my server and add the URL-link of the Image (pointing to the image on my server) to the listing in my directory.
In the EU however, it is illegal to copy any image from acompany’s website without their prior written content. It would be okay to just add an image-URL to the listing which directly points to the image on the company’s website (not my server) – some call it framing. I have tried this, but GD still asks me to save the image on my server, which I (like anybody in the EU) am not allowed to do.
Do you see a way how I can display images by framing instead of copying them on my server?
Looking forward to your response
Birgit
