Hello,
I’m configuring and testing a new website with default location in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. I have installed besides the core plugin, the MultiLocations, the CPT plugin and the Advanced Search.
I’m also using the Geodirectory Framework Child, but until now I didn’t edit any file. When I create a test user and try to add a listing, the geocoder doesn’t put the map pin on the correct location (stays in the center of the city) and the ZIP code it’s altered by another one with a different pattern.
I was using the Open Street Map when this first happened, but even after set the Google Maps (with the key), the error persists.
Any idea?
Thanks

Sorry, I’m not really sure if I get what you mean there. Could you please share WP temp admin access to your site so we can take a better look? You can post the details here using the private reply option below.
Thanks!

Once the marker is on the right spot, change street address and/or ZIP if required.March 20, 2017 at 1:45 pm #368601Ok Guust, it worked.
But why the Google auto suggestion doesn’t give me the correct address with the number? On other directory themes and related plugins it works for address in Brazil.
That way it will be too complicated for users to enter the correct information and probably I will face a higher rate of users leaving without form completion.
Besides that, the geocoder it isn’t working when I try to Get Directions from my address here in Sao Paulo. But if I use the same address from google maps, it works without problem.
How can we improve that?
March 20, 2017 at 2:17 pm #368613Hi Fabio,
If you know of somewhere that does it how you want then please link to it so we can test.
The Google address api does not use the same info as google maps search.
Thanks,
Stiofan

the plugin Leaflet Maps Marker Pro does it and pretty fast. And if you know that your plugin can’t perform that way, it’s expected that information available for your clients before buy it.
March 20, 2017 at 4:42 pm #368642Pleas provide an example link, because i don’t even know what you mean…

Maybe you can add other geolocation providers?
March 24, 2017 at 12:10 pm #369500The second image was just your address above copied, and like I said “Nothing happened, no suggestions, nothing at all, if I just copied and pasted that address”.
Leaflet Maps Marker gives exactly the same results as GD for me.March 24, 2017 at 1:31 pm #369528Hi Guust,
My concern is to lose new customer registrations due to the lack of usability in completing the forms.
I believe that not only me, but other users of GD, would like to see these faults healed. In a directory based on location as GD proposes, all the ease in registering the addresses correctly is paramount.
Thus, I do not agree that the proper functioning of the geolocation has to be submitted to a feature request.
I say all this less as a criticism of the plugin, but to stress the importance of this functionality.Best!
March 24, 2017 at 3:21 pm #369596Hi Fabio,
That feature is only to help complete the address, its not needed, if it does not work the way you want it to then you can disable it, or you can add a note below it telling customer how you want them to use it.
We only work with the API’s in this case Google, if you feel its not working how you want you can take it up with them.
If you know if an API that does it better then please provide a link to a page where we can test it.
Thanks,
Stiofan
