Advanced Editor Checkbox

We have moved to a support ticketing system and our forums are now closed.

    Hello.
    Sorry I know this must be a tick box somewhere but how do I get the show advanced editor tick box to appear when editing fields.

    I’m using a multisite and it works on the main site but not in the sub site.

    I’ve looked everywhere. Any help would be great.

    Sorry if that never made sense.

    It’s when I go to the Manage Custom Fields section.
    The screen shot above shows in the main site but not in the sub sites.

    I’m sure it’s a setting sowe where I need to add.

    Sorry, but not following where you get that option.
    What steps are you using to get to “Manage Custom Fields” section? There is no GD section called like that? Is this from another plugin, or WP, or a theme?

    To display the GD listings description on the frontend:
    GD > design > listings > show description field as editor: Here you can select the post types that will use the WYSIWYG editor on the add listings page description rather than a normal text area.

    Thanks for the reply.

    I have a multisite install

    On the main site I goto:
    GD > Place Settings > (Says Manage Place Custom Fields)
    I pic a textarea field and there is the checkbox in the screenshot.
    I tick it and I have an advanced editor for that field.

    In the subsites when I goto the same place I don’t get the option to tick it.

    The fix you suggested works just for decription not any other textarea.

    Make sense?

    Ah Ok that check box only shows on the Special Offers Textarea. On all sites.
    When I add a new textarea it doesn’t show.

    your last post is correct.
    if you want an advanced editor, you have to create a HTML custom field.

    A thanks I thought I was going mad.

    The real question for all this though is how do I get a shortcode to work in that field.

    If I paste the shortcode in the Video section it works.
    In special offers with advanced editor it doesn’t
    In a new custom html field it doesn’t
    It works fine in the main description field.

    I just want to add a custom tab and add a shortcode. Seems like it should be easier.
