Hi, we are having problems with the Advanced Search Filter – the listing search bar is not working as expected – basically it ignores a user’s multi-select box criteria and just repeatedly finds **all** listing entries – despite only one of the Places having the checked-box against a custom text value. In our test environment it should only come up with one search result everytime; based upon a value only being applied to one Place database entry out of 400+ Places.

Background: after successfully setting up a custom Multi Select field – also using {optgroup} to nicely group the select box options (excellent feature!), as one part of a form containing a few fields setup in WP at GeoDirectory > *** Settings > Custom Fields (TAB) we then included this field in advanced search. Over in the Advanced Search tab – we then ensure it appears in a list of fields that will appear in the advanced search form on the website. So far so good. Example setting…

    Field Data Type: CHECK
    Expand Seach Range: <blank>
    Search OPerator: AND
    Frontend Title: Sector

If an end-user then visits the website Listings page (of course, by default it shows a lot of entries) then clicks on the Advanced Search icon and selects the desired check-box from the list of check box entries (and selects nothing else) then they press Enter on the keyboard (or click on the Search button) – all Place entries are displayed after a screen refresh! Also if other text criteria is entered in the default search criteria text field – it also has no impact on the checkbox working, if it is used in tandem. It’s as if the selected check box is always being ignored in any search.

What are going wrong – please can you help?

P.S. We are utilising the GeoDirectory ‘Categories’ feature for a different field type which has similar functionality and this works absolutely fine – why can’t we achieve similar here using a Custom Field and Advanced Search?

    Thanks.
