Hello,
Hello,
I currently have 404 errors on all of my events pages.
Here is the latest instance:
1. go to http://www.skeebop.com
3. Go to, https://www.skeebop.com/events/bronx/arts-crafts/frida-kahlo-art-garden-life/
It is a 404 page4. In admin, go to https://www.skeebop.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=3834&action=edit
You will see that it is a published post with the correct url.5. In fact all of the posts in this section do not work:
http://www.skeebop.com/events/
https://www.skeebop.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=gd_eventPlease help. Just promoted this on Facebook

It must be one of your plugins which is doing that, it is impossible to edit or add a listing without adding a non-existent category.October 3, 2015 at 2:45 am #55552Thanks, Guust.
The only change was I added bulk edit/quick edit plugin. How can this be fixed. I checked the permalinks…what part shouldn’t be there?
October 3, 2015 at 2:47 am #55553How do I fix?
October 3, 2015 at 4:07 am #55560I would de-activate the plugin, and see if it fixes that.
Regarding permalinks at GD > permalinks, you should not use the “city only” setting.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-permalinks/You might have to re-save permalinks at WP Settings> permalinks
October 3, 2015 at 4:26 am #55564Yes. the Bulk edit/quick edit has been deactivated plugin persists.
Which category is being added that is non-existing?
I will change permalinks.
October 3, 2015 at 4:39 am #55566You did not de-activate Custom Bulk/Quick Edit Premium, and now that I did it, and tested, it has not fixed the problem. Your system is still creating wrong categories.
Have a look at the categories of a listing here:
https://www.skeebop.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=gd_eventSee how they have Admin 2 as a category?
Now look at https://www.skeebop.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=gd_eventcategory&post_type=gd_event
See how that category does not exist? You will have to de-activate your non-GD plugins to find which one is causing it.
October 3, 2015 at 3:39 pm #55618Hi,
the plugin causing this is Edit Flow. It was adding a custom taxonomy to all post type following_user and adding the author automatically to it.
It was also partially breaking the dashboard for GD posts.
It is definitely ot compatible with GeoDirectory. I’ve deactivated it and now you’ll see that all your events are in Pending review status.
Let us know if this helps.
Thanks
p.s. you have 64 plugins active. I would consider doing an effort to reduce that by at least 50% if you want to have an efficient website. Use multisite and separate website section so that only relavant plugins are loaded in each section. Ex : forums / directory / blog and so on…
October 3, 2015 at 9:54 pm #55644Hello Paolo,
Thank you for helping to figure this out. Unfortunately, though the backend doesn’t show the Admin2 category and the events are pending, they still will not post. Would you please take a look again.
About Edit flow, it’s that it suddenly caused this conflict because I’ve been using Edit Flow for months with no issues. I added Quick Edit/Bulk Edit’s Edit Flow addon and I think that is what broke it. It was such a useful plugin for my team. Also, I will certainly take your advise about the plugins. You have suggested a solution that hasn’t been presented to me before.
Thank you.
October 3, 2015 at 11:32 pm #55650Hi,
I think the 404 is because geodirectory isn’t registering /events/ for some reason. Please help.
October 3, 2015 at 11:40 pm #55651I am being told the following:
Please check the .htaccess and permalinks as events that actually exist dont work
https://www.skeebop.com/events/united-states/new-york/new-york/tammy-hall/
is a published event
we shouldn’t be getting a 404 for that
https://www.skeebop.com/events/
bottom right you can see the event is upcomingThank you.
October 3, 2015 at 11:44 pm #55652Please post your FTP details or control panel details so we can inspect the .htaccess file.
October 4, 2015 at 12:09 am #55653This reply has been marked as private.October 4, 2015 at 1:06 am #55657There does not seem to be anything wrong with your htaccess file.
I’ll have to flag this for Stiofan.
Can you also post phpadmin details for him. -
