    Hi Guys,

Some of my clients have 2 email addresses they want enquiries sent to… for example it would be the idea of headoffice@company.com and localbranch@company.com.

If I set (in the database) the geodir_email equal to “headoffice@company.com, localbranch@company.com” (comma separated)… both the email addresses receive the enquiry… so head office can keep track and localbranch gets the enquiry lead. Great! However, if I go to “Edit This Listing” I see the email address field set to “headoffice@company.com, localbranch@company.com” which means I can’t save the advert as this fails the validation becuause of the comma

What can be done here? Perhaps the validation should include a comma?

    Thanks, as always!

    Adrian

Just don’t make it a required field and it wont be put through so much validation.

    hey Stiofan

I had thought of that… but email should be mandatory as if it’s not… people will leave it out… which is of course going to cause problems with the advert.

You could then add your own validation back in.
The field is meant for 1 email address andything more would require customisation.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

Just a thought: why should emails be mandatory?
You already have the email of the user submitting the listing.
The email in the listing submission form is only to create the Enquiry form.
What if they do not want an enquiry form on their listing, is it mandatory to have an Enquiry form?

    Hi Guust,

I take your point for sure…. but I think inquiries are a great way of both me and my customers keeping track of the performance of their adverts. If I call them up for renewal at the end of the year and am able to see (and they are able to see) that they had 50 inquiries then it’s much better…phone enquiries are much harder to track.

Depends on the service offering I guess….. not sure many people would email a restaurant for example for a booking as it’s a much more immediate service than my own offering… which is daycare/childcare services.
