Hi support,
I have setup a package with analytics service included following the instructions. The widget is showing in the sidebar in the Listing Details page. All works good.
I am looking at the GA quotas though and I see we can easily hit the daily quota of 50,000 requests soon. 98% of the requests are made by ‘analytics.data.realtime.get’ Method, and 2% by the ‘analytics.data.ga.get’ method.
I am logged as administrator while browsing the front-end and for testing purposes I did not filter our dedicated IP address we use.
So, I need your help regarding the following:
How the quotas for the User Analytics are counted?
Are they counted as page views (every time someone visits a listing with analytics included), or they are counted when the GA widget displays data on the front-end? Or they are counted for every visit on every listing, no matter if the User analytics is included in the price package or not?I need this clarification to plan better if the User Analytics feature should be offered to our clients as additional paid feature. If we can easily hit the daily free quota given by Google, I don’t want to promise this feature as forever free to our users and get in trouble.
Thanks.
March 12, 2016 at 5:56 pm #138509Hi,
I asked to Stiofan to comment on this.
I suppose he’ll reply after the week end.
Thanks for your patience.

March 14, 2016 at 12:26 pm #139290Hi mb,
The realtime tracking that tells a owner /admin how many users are on the page fires every few seconds only when an owner/admin are on the page, this could be a problem for example if you open a page and leave it open as it will keep firing, we could do several things to reducs this like extensing the refresh time or stopping the cunt after 5 minz etc, just let me know your thoughts and we can make things work best for you.

March 15, 2016 at 8:33 am #139948Hi Stiofan,
Thanks for the response. It makes the things more clearer now. The script already got blocked for my admin user, because I am all the time on the site and lots of time on the front-end browsing through the clients pages (still doing quite lots of tests, but it will continue in the future because we will bring changes and more features).
Some points to consider:
1. As admin, I have to be a lot of time on the front-end, logged in, helping the customers or just keeping eye on the things, etc.
2. The users might leave their page open while logged in, and forget about it.
Regarding this, what you would suggest to be the best to do?
Could it be different conditions applied for the admins and for the listing owners?
I suppose stopping after 5 mins for the listing owner is a good solution. After some weeks we can really say if it is the ultimate solution.
May be for the admin even more restricted? That it fires up once ONLY when the admin refreshes the page.
What if we just make it firing up only one page refresh for owner/admin? Would it be possible like that? Then we just need to teach our clients that they should refresh the page to see changes.
Let me know what is possible to be implemented and what are your further thoughts.
Thanks.
March 15, 2016 at 11:14 pm #140549Regarding the above, without the constant refresh, the Active Users feature is sort of useless then. Usually, our clients would like to see a general overview more than how many users are right now on their page. For them is more important to see the daily counts, to make comparisons, as it is at the moment.
Active users is a great feature if there is a sales channel impelemnted that can pick up on these users, like live chat, for example.
Our clients are following their daily business routine, more than hanging on their profile on the website to monitor who is at the moment on their page.
I can imagine that this is most of the time the case with directories websites and the clients they have.
I am just thinking out loud. Looking forward for your comments.
Thanks.
March 16, 2016 at 1:07 pm #140935HI mb,
We could add an option (or even do it by default) that the user must click “Show Analytics” before it even loads?

March 17, 2016 at 11:01 am #141664Hi Stiofan,
sounds very good!
How do you think to handle the flow after the user opens the analytics? Auto refresh for the next 5 minutes or no auto refresh just with a Refresh button? Or something else?
Thanks.
March 23, 2016 at 11:54 am #144824Hi Stiofan and support,
any updates on my last message?
Also, when it is expected the changes to take place and we can make an update?
Thanks.
March 23, 2016 at 6:10 pm #145030I have added a task for this, hopefully it will make it into the next release.
Thanks,
Stiofan
March 24, 2016 at 9:36 am #145449Yes, I cross fingers.
Any approximate schedule for the next release? April? May?
Till then, can we just extend the refresh time somewhere in the code? If you point me out what to do, I will do the change and run it like this till the update is rolled out.
This teak will greatly help us to promote our service presentation and sales.
Thanks.
March 25, 2016 at 1:08 pm #145860This has been implemented and will be in the next release (hopefully tonight)
Thanks,
Stiofan

The widget works great now! And really no pressure on the Google daily limits.
Thank you, Stiofan!
