Are Icons required?

WordPress 4.5.3 running Supreme Directory theme. Version: 1.0.2

I am trying to develop a directory for professionals that do not need to display Icons or images. I don’t need Icons for Categories either.
My biggest complaint is that the Icon/Image that is attached to the search results takes up too much space. I would like information rather than pretty pictures.
Can I shut the icons/images off?

You’ll need the images for the listings and the icons for the map. Do you mean you’re not using both of that? Or, do you mind sharing a screenshot of what you are trying to achieve?

I do need the icons for the map, but I do not need images for the listings, at least in the search results. Images in the listing detail are ok.

If images for the listings is required, is there a way to control the size of the images? The size of the images reduces the number of visible search results. The attached capture shows that I can see just 2 or 3 search results on a page in the list view. That is not enough. The grid view is better, but there is still a lot of screen space wasted in images or image place holders (where no image is selected).

Linked to this perhaps is the schema chosen. Does the schema influence the display of the search results?

you can hide the image of listings pages or set a smaller size via CSS.

However that is considered a customization.
