    Hello Matt,

we would be happy to look into it. A solution was not found because we cannot yet recreate the issue.

Please do start a new topic to describe the issue and followup with a private reply to include access details so we can take a look. You can provide a link to this topic too, that will help.

    Thanks

    Hi Alex,

Thank you for the speedy reply.

I actually just found a solution to this after troubleshooting various elements. By default when setting up a WordPress site I go through all the WordPress settings and untick elements I dont want to use .eg comments / media file sizes – I also untick ‘Organise my uploads into month- and year-based folders’ in Media > Settings. This then gives me a nice simple URL rather than by date order.

By reticking this I was able to get my file attachments to save when re-editing and publishing a listing. This could of course still be coincidental but worked for me.

What I have noticed is a difference in the permalink structure on media assets. The image permalink differs from the File URL which might have something to do with it.

Thanks again, we have found GEO Directory a really useful feature within our organisation.

    That makes sense!

This is one of the most anticipated changes with GDV2 (no longer required to tick that box).

    Hello all,

I’m still struggling with this issue. It’s awful. However I’m having a hard time zeroing in on an exact repro scenario which would facilitate investigations.

Let me ask a simple question:

Can you please give me a list of all lines of code that would DELETE an image file throughout your code base? I’ll proceed from there and add tracing. I can do my own search, but you know your code better than I do 🙂

This issue is often associated with media settings.

For GeoDirectory to work correctly, you also need to Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders.

From the main WordPress Dashboard menu, choose Settings > Media > Tick Organise my uploads into month- and year-based folders, and Save changes.

Alex, I’m the original poster in this thread. That’s not the issue. The background is all in this thread.

Could you please answer my question?
