    Hi,

    How do you make the registers users the author of the listing?

    At the moment I have to make my users administrators for it to show up in the back end “Select Author” and I really dont want to do that.

    Hi Guust,

    Yes I do have that add on but still I cannot assign them as authors except the admin roles.
    Is there a custom role capability that needs to be added??

    At the moment my role capability is set to author as per this page:

    If you want to assign users themselves in the backend, you can just set them (temporarily) to “author” and then they will be available in the listing’s author drop down.

    But I can – all I see is the 4 admin roles as per my previous screen shot.

    The 188 author roles dont show in the drop down author.

    (I cant take a screen shot and keep the drop down box open, but just to show you I am looking at right part)

    Hi Stuart,

    I see that it’s not doing it just with Places, but also with normal posts, so I believe somehow posting capabilities where changed from authors.

    Is it possible that you edited the author role via the plugin “members”? Could you please ask to thier support what would cause Authors not being able to submit posts of any kind?
