I have realised that it can be very hard to find the right school in my database from search because many schools have such similar names.
The popular names like St Mary / St John, MacKillop, Sacred Heart etc. I can have up to 100 variations on the basic name.
When the auto-fill for name is on – can it have the location automatically displayed as well: e.g. Sacred Heart College Newtown, Victoria
I have added place names in brackets for some schools before realising how many schools needed this.
What adds to this is that e.g Sacred Heart College Geelong is in Newtown and won’t show up if someone puts in place first as ‘Geelong’ and then looks for Sacred Heart.
I reckon, if people can just search ‘Sacred Heart’ they will see the school name and the location they want quickly, as locals will know that Newtown is a suburb in Geelong, especially if they used ‘state’ as the limiting factor in the search.
Please let me know if there is a solution to this – other than editing all the name entries to also include location.
