    Hi all,

    How is it going?

Still in the learning process here.
Just a quick and very important question.

Let say I use Dropbox and updraft to backup my clients listings. Let say every 24 hrs.

So what happens to those within 24hrs? If the site is interrupted and need to be recover from the backup. Then it means clients listing within 24 hrs will be lost.

I am thinking when auto emails of listing noticifation, the email should include all the clients files, descriptions, titles, photos and video.

So is it possible to do it. I know it is a long way , but please help and give hints to achieve.

    Many thanks

    Hi samsamem,

Thanks for your post. If you are referring to backups, I think you should consult your hosting provider first. But unfortunately, you can’t include all “clients files” in an email. If you like update, you can probably subscribe to its premium services which allow you to perform a backup every 4 hours, which I think it’s more than enough.

    Thanks!

    Hi samsamem,

Thanks for your reply You’ll lose everything within that 4 hours. I don’t think it’s going to be cheap to backup your Website lets say every 5 minutes. Like I’ve mentioned earlier, consult your hosting provider as they should be able to provide you the best solution.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I’m not sure what you are looking for. If something happens in between, you will loose data.

For all these requirements there are solutions. But this cost money and I’m not sure if it will be worth to spend money on realtime data replication (redundant systems). If you like to think in this direction, you need to talk to your hosting company.

But I like to remember: Maybe your hosting company garantee an uptime of about 99,9%, which means more than 8 hours downtime per year. You can get 99,99% of uptime garantee but this can be really expensive.

All about statistics. And if you have 99,99% of uptime you are not prevented to loose data.

Anyhow, you can backup your data with updraft every 4 hours. If you like to get backuped the information once they are published you can implement this by hooking into WP. This can be done by any WP developer.

    Best,
    Dirk
