    Hi,

In the package settings, if you have a ‘basic’ listing that is the lowest package the only option is ‘expire,’ whereas higher ‘paid’ packages can be downgraded upon the end of the term.

I’m trying to think of an option for a basic listing besides ‘expire’ such as auto-renew so that the listing doesn’t just go away.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you!!

Any free package that is non-recurring can be selected as a downgrade option. Downgrades happen without intervention so they can’t auto-charge.

Any free package can be set to expire -> Never.

If a free package is for a limited time, then, there is the option in the advanced settings of the Pricing tab to “Renewal for free package?” which enables renewals for free packages.

    Does that help?

Thanks. So even if in the packages tab where it shows ‘expire’ as the downgrade option, if the pricing tab says ‘allow renewal of listing with free package,’ does the pricing tab override the listing going into expiry (becoming unpublished)?

I’m sure that the listing owner still gets all the expire alerts, but does the listing actually fall off of being published?

If the expiry process is enabled, then yes, the listing will be set to expired.
