I just noticed that if I use autofill for the Address Field it correctly populates all the remaining location fields but it does not set the location on the map.
Recently I had someone add a few events and they all had broken maps. I found out that clicking the Set Address On Map button was for fixing this.
I’ve been using GD for a long time and never really understood the purpose of the Set Address On Map button. I’m assuming this may be to fix the map not automatically being set.
So now I’m trying to figure out a way to explain this on the add listing page. That is, say something like
“MAKE SURE MAP IS CORRECT. If it is not then click on “Set Address On Map Button”. Otherwise your map may not work correctly.”
I’m not sure how to say this near the button. The only way I can find to include this statement is to add it to the Address description field. But that is a few fields above the map. Ideally it would be in below the zip code above the top of the map near the button.
so, I’m curious if this is something that can be fixed. I imagine I may be able to disable the autofill. I haven’t tried that yet to see if that may prevent this from happening. Is that what I need to do? I would hate to take away features though that improve user experience.
Or is this something you guys can fix, making it so the map does automatically work when using autofill.
I was on internet explorer. I haven’t tried this on any other browsers to see if this always happen.
Lastly, is there a way to get that statement in between the zip code and map?
The attached image shows where this happened. The address autofilled is in Shelby but the map remained on the default location in charlotte.
