Is there a way that, when a user arrives to the site and a popular posts widget is being used, the top 10 featured locations in the nearest 10 miles are shown?

I know that in the advanced search widget that you need to click the ‘Near Me’ checkbox but I want to limit the number of featured listings based upon the users location

    Hi,

    That’s how it works

You need to filter the widget by featured and select 10 listings and also filter the widget by location, if the user share his/her location, they’ll get 10 featured listings from around his location.

    Thanks

    Thanks Paulo.

    Not sure whether completely understood…

So, a visitor has never ever been to the site. They go to the home page. The home page has a widget section displaying featured listings. Without the visitor pressing a single checkbox/link etc, I want them to see just those featured listings within a 5 mile radius from their current location.

    Is that possible?

Thatr’s not possible, the user must share his location when the browser ask if he wants to be GeoLocated.

    Thanks

Thanks Paolo – I thought that might be the case.

Do you think there is any method then that this could be filtered down to current country location then as opposed to GeoLocation? Almost like how it would operate on eCommerce for setting the currency and prices?

It would require a customization, currently the only option is Google GeoLocation which works as explained.

    Thanks
