Avoid Geodirectory from loading on page

    If you click on advertise for example, (top menu) you will see that it loads on every page…
    I just want to remove unnecessary stuff from the pages that are not concerned…

    That is what I did and I can’t find any GD scripts there from the core plugin…

    Hello, sorry this is a side project so i couldn check it the last few days…
    It seems like the code you gave me works fine, Thank you for that…
    the problem i have is that on mobile devices, i tried on mobile safari and chrome the /location/me page wich ic the main page i need from Geodirectory, keeps reloading and looping… It keeps asking for the user to share his location, even if i click “allow” it just keeps reloading
    tried on different devices…

    All i need from this plugin is NOT the homepage, but specifically the /location/me page in order to show the listings in proximity of a user…
    Could you please help me get that to work

    It seems like you have a PHP Sessions problem on your server. Is it using any custom caching system?

    Hi, my site is hosted on WP Engine… I think they have their own caching…

    Yes you will have to disable their caching, it’s known to break PHP Sessions.
    The only caching system that is 100% compatible with GD is GD Booster.

    Oh, why is it just happening on mobile devices?
    As far as i know it is impossible to disable their cache, i have many post types and plugins on heir hosting and it is not interfering with any other plugin.
    Is their a way i could make your plugin compatible?

    Hi,

    I was testing on desktop on your website and I have the same problem.

    As far as I know you can ask them to disable caching. Of course it doesn’t make much sense to use WP Engine if you can’t use thier cache and that’s why we suggest not to use Managed WP Hostings with GeoDirectory, unless you have full control over the caching system.

    GeoDirectory uses PHP Sessions for locations and any caching system that breaks Sessions will never be compatible.

    Hi,

    it is not feasible I’m sorry. We would have to rebuild the plugin from ground up…

    It’d be much easier and cheaper for you to pay a server admin to setup a fast and scalable dedicated server or cloud instance for you to run GD on it, than for us to make it compatible with WP Engine caching system.
