I’ve ran into this on Google Seed test and I cannot figure out how to resolve it?
My theme is trying to load a resource which is NO LONG being used:
https://www.bluestarguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/background.jpg
and several others:
Where do i need to go into the theme to make the link disappear to avoid the bad request errors? yes, they have been removed, do I need to find them in the database?
June 15, 2015 at 6:39 pm #42601Also,
On one of my bad link checkers, I keep getting this 404, any idea what it may be? I can delete it and it comes back?
June 15, 2015 at 6:43 pm #42604Hi, are you using any cache plugin/or CDN such as cloudflare? this is most likely why it’s happening.
June 15, 2015 at 7:11 pm #42609If you remove only the image, yes the url to it is probably still somewhere in the database.
The broken link checker should tell you on which page they ahve been found.
With that info solving this becomes easier.
Let us know,
Thanks,
June 15, 2015 at 8:51 pm #42615No CDN, yet.
Only using GD Booster
Cleared the cache, still showing up. Some of these broken links are stuff that I removed months ago but just found recently.
No bad links in broken link checker.
When I run GTMatrix, I see the broken links..
If I have to removed the link from the database, where would I start looking?
Thank you!
June 15, 2015 at 8:58 pm #42617Doesn’t GTMatrix says where it finds them?
I only use Google Webmaster tools for such things and they tell you exactly where to find it.
Looking into the database blindly could be trivial, especially because GTMatrix could be giving you a false information…
Thanks
June 15, 2015 at 9:39 pm #42619Totally agree Paolo, GTMatrix gives me a URL, that no longer exist, not sure if its a cache issue (even though I’ve cleared it) or how its looking at data.
When I use Google Page speed, I get a whole other set of issues:
