Hi, I am running BuddyPress, bbPress and GD BuddyPress Integration (WordPress, GD, and all plugins current/up-to-date) …
I have 2 hidden forums that were created at the same time as their 2 hidden groups were. I am having several problems that may be related to how GD is working with BuddyPress and bbPress or may be related to BuddyPress/bbPress bugs – I am posting here in case it is GD integration-related, but also in case any other GD users come across the same problem and would like to see how the search for a solution goes!
(there is a possibly-related resolved issue regarding hidden groups that were even hidden to members, until Paolo added some custom CSS?: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/buddypress-hidden-group-hidden-to-members/ … I couldn’t find where he added the CSS bits on my site though!)
The problems are (using the H 5-O hidden group/forum as an example):
1. the hidden forums are hidden from/closed to the members who should be able to see/use them – admin can see them (though they are reported closed, admin has been able to post a Test topic – not visible to the member who should be able to see the hidden group/foums)
2. I have also just noticed that in the back-end, the forums appear (sort-of) Not published: instead of reading Update, the blue button continually reads Publish – even when ‘published’!
(I have updated the Hidden Group description, which is why it now varies from the Hidden Forum description as was when the forum was created at the same time as the Hidden Group)
I have used the bbPress repair tools with no effect.
I will carry on looking on web for answers and sign up for bbPress forum to post the issues there – any ideas would be welcome though in case it is an issue with how it is integrated with GD.
