With all the changes the developers are doing, I decided to wait before using GD. Since I will probably use the GD framework and child themes, I wonder if we can now use it on a live site or wait a little longer.

I understand that many will choose to use non-GD themes such as Avada, X, etc. I myself don’t see the need to pay for other themes yet and would rather use and support what the GD developers have to offer. Perhaps I will consider other themes in the future. I would rather have GD to be fully compatible now with BuddyPress, BBPress, WP Jobboard, Pay2Post and other plugins.

I am hoping to launch at least 2 live GD sites at the end of May but not sure if I should just wait for the next release. I hope the next release will have all the features that GD competitors have such as geolocation, good-looking child themes, etc.

I would also like to suggest to have a Dev Build version similar to appthemes that is updated daily so we can use it in addition to the new releases.

If you suggest that I should wait, what is the ETA for the next “major” release?

    Hi manilaboy,
I would say you can go live, the only thing i would advise it run a test upgrade on the next release to make sure your design is not broken.

We will release the new version at the start of next week, maybe tue or wed.

    Thanks,

Thank you, Stiofan. I know this is not the right thread but may I request that you provide an option not to publish the street address of the listing? City, State and Zip Code should be good.

Some of my potential listings will not want their exact street address to be published. Perhaps a checkbox to give them the option will solve this.

    Hi,

There is an option in backend custom field manager to manage, if u want to show any field or listing or detail page.

Please have a look and let me know.

    Thanks

    Hi Vikas,

What I mean is the option that the listing owners can select whether to hide or display their street address. Most of my site’s listings will probably display their complete address but I will have home-based businesses listed which may need to hide their street address and only display their City, State and Zip Code.

Hi manilaboy, in that cast the owner could simply enter the city name for the street address.
