Hello, I am having troubles adding a new listing. I have everything in place correctly input, and when I go to publish it just scrolls down to Map Section.
Also I was wondering how I get rid of all listings I currently have. I somehow have duplicate listings and I’d like to start fresh. Thank you!
October 12, 2017 at 6:37 pm #400286Hi Micheal,
here I am, please provide admin credentials in the next reply and set the reply as private so that only our staff can read it.
To delete all listings, the best way is go to Places, click the “screen option” tab at the top right corner of the screen, increase posts to something like 200 and after bulk delete listings. https://www.competethemes.com/blog/remove-wordpress-posts/
the Bulk Delete plugin will not work for GD, because its not aware of our custom DB tables, so it would leave plenty of orphaned data.
Let us know,
Thanks
October 12, 2017 at 6:41 pm #400287Hello!
Your listings can be managed under the “Places” menu item, where you can edit/bin/view them.
For adding a new listing, please check to make sure you have not altered the pages that GD creates for adding a listing. You can check the settings for the pages to choose a new page and try that.
We can take a look when you reply with your url and wp-admin credentials in a private reply.

I’ve added a Test listing and worked fine. If it scrolls back to the map, possibly you are not adding some mandatory detail of the address?
Let me know precise steps to reproduce the issue please.
Thanks
October 15, 2017 at 3:03 pm #400712Hey, I just tested it out again and it for some reason doesnt want to work. I took a screenshot and attached of everything I had filled out and it just scrolls back to map.
Also, are you able to let me know how to either delete duplicate postings or completely remove all of them at once. I may of added the xl document twice?
October 15, 2017 at 10:49 pm #400745Are you changing the auto-generated lat and lng for the address. Try leaving that as is, if that is what you are doing, that is where the error messages are showing.
Thanks
October 16, 2017 at 2:02 am #400777Okay So I found out that only happens when you try to add the information below the map like the website and phone number. I checked your listing and I replicated it and it published for me, but the moment I filled out the bottom portion, it kept bringing me tot he map with no error message, not being able to update
October 16, 2017 at 5:33 am #400785Hello!
I added a test Place with website and twitter without issue.
I filled in the address (street and postcode) and hit the button “Set Address on Map”
When I did not add http to the website, I receive an error that resulted in the scroll to the map.
After I added http I was able to save.
Desktop Win10 Chrome
Can you be more specific about the steps we shoudl take to replicate the error?
October 16, 2017 at 1:00 pm #400868Thats what the issue was, not adding the http. It would of been really helpful if an error message came up to let me know that 🙂
Also, are you able to let me know how to either delete duplicate postings or completely remove all of them at once. I may of added the xl document twice?
October 16, 2017 at 1:15 pm #400875The easiest way to delete the places, is to increase places shown per page in the backend, and then bulk delete.
An error message will show, see image.
Thanks
October 16, 2017 at 1:23 pm #400877See I didn’t get that message. Not sure why, no big deal glad we got it figured out. Thank you so much for your time
October 16, 2017 at 1:30 pm #400878Sorry I have one other question, not sure if I should create a new ticket, but my partner was wondering if we have the ability to automatically add a message in this blank spot, such as “If you are looking to customize your listing please contact…”
October 16, 2017 at 2:20 pm #400893The Claim Listing Add-on offers several features like that and is a great way to get users involved on your site.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/claim-listings/
The area you point out is the description. You could copy/paste some text in there with a link to your add-listing page, certainly.
October 16, 2017 at 2:58 pm #400899Oh yeah that could work too, but when you have over 1,700 listings, it would take a while to do that. I guess there is no bulk way to manage that
