Can't add new category to place, new category not showing in drop-down search

So, I’ve created a new sub-category for restaurants, pizza. Unfortunately, I can’t add that sub-category to this listing, because it apparently demands I enter all the information for the listing, and gives me error messages saying I need to add the email for the place, etc.

I only want to quickly add the category, not fill out every piece of info on every place. Hoping for a speedy, convenient solution.

Also, the pizza category is not showing up in the advanced search.
