Hi! We’ve got everything up and running on our site and LOVE GeoDirectory. But I have one issue I can’t figure out.

    On this site
    https://www.rockymountaincancercenters.com/places/colorado-springs/colorado-springs/

you’ll see a location page. On the Right sidebar I have a widget that displays the categorys associated with this location called SERVICES AT THIS LOCATION. BUT the links that are automatically displayed go nowhere what I need is either NO links or be able to iink to that section of the website.

For example: the Chemotherapy can link to the Chemotherapy page here https://www.rockymountaincancercenters.com/chemotherapy/

Is there any way for GD to handle this?

    Thanks!

    HI,

currently it is doing what it is expected. It is taking you here:

    https://www.rockymountaincancercenters.com/places/united-states/colorado/colorado-springs/chemotherapy/

Which is the archive of the chemotherapy category for that specific location.

There is no option to change that, however I asked to the developers to let us know if they can think of any workaround.

They’ll let us know, but I don’t guarantee a solution.

    Thanks

https://www.rockymountaincancercenters.com/places/colorado-springs/colorado-springs/ is NOT a location page, but a detail page for a medical center called Colorado Springs.

What you are after I think is a custom field where the user can tick the type of service they provide and that will automatically create a link to the relevant WP page you created.
It seems that only admins can add listings, so review this link to create such custom fields:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#url
    You would enter
    https://www.rockymountaincancercenters.com/chemotherapy|Chemotherapy
Use a fieldset “THIS LOCATION’S SERVICES:”above the URLs

    Hopefully I understood correctly.

You had the categories custom field to show in the sidebar.
    Please check now.

Yes I know. But I deleted all the categories for that location so it should not have shown up ONLY on that’s location. I didn’t want to turn it off for all locations.

But that’s OK, I’m going to have to do this another way any way.

    Thanks,
    Michelle

The issue might have been because the listing is not in any category then, a listing needs to be in at least one category for all things to work properly.
If you do not want to display the categories, then you should not turn on “show in sidebar”..

You are wanting to link to normal WP pages, which has nothing to do with categories.

    Thanks.
