category question with location

In V1, if you click on a listings category whether in a list view or detail view, it would bring up all the listings in that category.

In V2, if you click on a listings category in detail view it makes a connection to the location (for some reason) and so only shows the listing in the same location at the detail listing.

If you click on a listings category in a list view, all the listings in the category come up regardless of location.

Is there some way to make clicking on a category ignore the location when in detail view?
