I am trying to have a specific description for some of the locations for some of the Custom Post Types I have created.

For example the Tour Category I want a specific description for Tokyo. When using the Edit Tour Category, I untick the Category Top Description. I am then offered a list of all the locations. If I select the Tokyo from the list it shows the text I previously entered.

However when the actual page is viewed it shows the default text minus the [gd_current_location_name] parameter. That is, it isn’t showing the specific text entered for Tokyo Food tour.

    Hi,

I asked to the developers to check why the location specific description isn’t appearing instead of the default description. They’ll let us know asap.

The sohrtcode in there isn’t working, because the location tag is : %location% (it says it in the note below the option about it).

    Thanks

Hello Craig, It looks you are using outdated version (1.0.2) of supreme. I have fixed that location bug in dev version. could you update your supreme theme to the latest and let me know.

So i can apply the fix.

    Thanks

I updated the supreme theme and flushed the files that appear to have changed in Cloudflare.

I hadn’t realised that there was no notification of updates to the child theme. It would appear I am not the only one that has fallen behind on updating this child theme. There really needs to be an announcement sticky or a thread we can subscribe to so we can receive notification when these updates come out.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Sorry about that craig.

Supreme is a child theme and many people usually add custom codes in supreme. If we let them update from dashboard, all changes will be lost.

But you are right, we should have atleast added a sticky announcement. I’ll talk to paolo about this.

P.S: I’m gonna apply the fix now. I’ll let you know once i’m done.

    Thanks

I have applied the fix and tested. It works fine now.

    Please use

    %location%

for the locations instead of shortcode.

    I mean something like this

    <h1>%location% Food Tour</h1>

    see here https://www.gojapango.com/tours/tokyo/tokyo/tour/food-tour/

    Thanks

Supreme will be soon available on wordpress.org and with their system there will be a notification for updates.

I’ll create a forum today for Supreme and open a sticky topic in it for updates too.

    Thanks
