Hey Guys,
What file contains the name of the reviews tab on the details page so I can change it to “Leave a Review”.
I checked through every tab. I know you designate which ones are visible via Design > Detail but I don’t see where you can edit the name. I also checked all the .php files available in the editor but don’t see it.
If you let me know what file and directory it sits in I can update there OR if there’s a better solution please advise.
Thanks Gentlemen!!!

Thanks
August 12, 2015 at 3:28 pm #49111Okay Paolo,
Thanks for the quick response.
I’m not quite sure what/how to edit the Reviews tab name in poedit. I have the file open and did a search for “reviews” but have quite a few results.
Reviews
%Reviews
No Reviews
Reviews (this is a second instance)
GD > Recent Reviews
reviews
reviewCan you direct me as to which to edit so I can change the tab name on the details page from “Reviews” to “Leave a Review”?
Thanks for your time Paolo. I really appreciate the guidance.
August 12, 2015 at 3:33 pm #49112Hi,
I’ve just tested and it’s the 1st instance of Reviews.
Whatever you do to test, can always be undone.
Thanks
August 12, 2015 at 4:03 pm #49116Okay Paolo,
I appreciate your patience. Here’s what I did…
1. I downloaded the geodirectory-en_US.po file to my computer and opened in poedit.
2. I “translated” that first instance of “Reviews” to “Leave a Review”.
3. I “Saved As” so it would overwrite the original file. (little confused here because I though I was supposed to end up with .mo file once saved??)
4. I created a “languages” directory in the “wp-content” directory
5. Created a “geodirectory” directory in the “languages” directory
6. Uploaded the “geodirectory-en_US.po” file and refreshed my page…No change.:-(
What did I miss/do incorrectly?
August 12, 2015 at 4:25 pm #49119all correct but point 6.
You need to upload the mo file that is generated when saving the po file.
Thanks
August 12, 2015 at 4:40 pm #49121Got it,
In step 3 instead of “Save As” you need to choose “Compile to MO” so it creates the MO file.
Thanks Paolo!!!
August 12, 2015 at 5:05 pm #49124You are welcome, just FYI, when you save the po file it always autogenerates the mo file as well.
Thanks
August 12, 2015 at 5:11 pm #49125I read that above but when I clicked save as I didn’t see anything. Is this a pro feature? If not, how do I retrieve it? It’s not readily apparent in poedit… unless I missed it.
Thanks Paolo
August 12, 2015 at 5:18 pm #49127Try this, paste a copy of any po file you have in a test folder of your desktop, make sure that’s the only file you have in the folder.
Open the file with po edit, make a simply dummy change and save it. (just click the save button).
If now you open the test folder, you should see the mo file in there as well.
Obivously if you already have the mo file in the same location as the po file, it just overwrites it.
This is how poedit works. I never used any pro version of it.
Let us know,
Thanks
August 12, 2015 at 5:35 pm #49130That’s pretty much what I did the first time other than the folder being on the desktop.
I clicked “save” first. Poedit “flashed” as if saving settings/changes but I saw no .mo file.
Then I click “save as” but that just overwrote the existing .po file… no .mo.Only when I clicked “compile MO” did it worked for me.
No worries, I accomplished what I needed to. I’m sure I’m just overlooking something stupid.
Anyway, thanks for all the direction and for introducing me to poedit!
August 12, 2015 at 5:47 pm #49133no problem, you are welcome 🙂
August 12, 2015 at 9:04 pm #49152FYI, if I understood the question correctly, you can change the name of the tab at
GD > Custom Post Types > Place Settings (or other CPT) > edit > Reviews tab label > enter whatever you like.August 12, 2015 at 9:07 pm #49154I knew I was missing something on this one…
thanks Guust! 🙂
August 12, 2015 at 10:38 pm #49168Thanks for the input Guust but I don’t see access to …
GD > Custom Post Types > Place Settings (or other CPT) > Edit > Reviews Tab Label
I see GD > Place Settings but this takes me to the fields in the sidebar of the listings detail page NOT the TABs that site below the slider on the details page.
Am I missing something?
Thanks!!
