I want to change the text for City and Region. I followed the instructions for translating text here: http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/translate-core but the text still remains the same. Can you help?

Hello, did you try to delete the cache in your browser?
Are the .po/mo files inside the wp-content/language/geodirlocation folder? (did you edit the geodirlocation-en_US.po, inside geodir_location_manager/geodir-location-languages ?)

Let us know if you managed to translate it so we can set the thread as resolved, thanks.

according to the docs the path should’ve been: /wp-content/languages/geodirectory/geodirectory-en_US.mo which is what I have. I changed it to what you mentioned above: wp-content/language/geodirlocation/geodirectory-en_US.mo but still does not work.

The correct folder is named wp-content/languages/geodirectory or wp-content/languages/geodirlocation depending which po/mo files you are working on.

The 1st for the core plugin the second for the multi location addon.

Did you edit the po file with poedit and saved to create the new mo file?

Are you editing the correct mo/po file? Each plugin has its own.

In any case you can change those labels from the backend in GD >> Place settings >> Address field

Just open it and you will find the option to change Country / Region / City labels.

    Let us know,

    Thx

Editing the place settings solved most of the issue. The location selector is still showing as region/city though.

For that you have to go the po/mo way. Translate label Country, Region, City in geodirlocation-en_US.po. Create geodirlocation-en_US.mo and copy it in wp-content/languages/geodirlocation/geodirlocation-en_US.mo

    Let us know,

    Thx

OK. I copied the geodirlocation-en_US.mo and geodirlocation-en_US.po files and moved it to wp-content/languages/geodirlocation then did a find and replace of Region with Mountain Range and saved the file. I cleared my cache and refreshed my page but it still says Region. Can you take a look and make sure I did everything right?

    Hi,

please pay attention to the documentation we provide before trying to do things assuming how to do them…

    http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/translate-core/

Download po file on your pc, open it with poedit software or similar, make the changes, save file which creates a new mo file to upload to your server in the right folder as explained.

    That is the procedure.

    Thank you
