How hard would it be to change the entry field for “time” into a text area?

It is fairly common here to list opening hours like this…

Monday to Friday: 8:30AM to 5:30PM
Saturday: 8:30AM to 1:00PM
Sunday & Public Holidays: Closed

…and a text area would make it possible to enter them this way?

Hi,

U still can achieve this using textbox, if u are using admin back end to add listing, just enter
wherever wu ant to give a line break.
To achieve your desired result plz enter this in textbox.

Monday to Friday: 8:30AM to 5:30PM
Saturday: 8:30AM to 1:00PM

I will work on it to make it convenient in near future.

Thanks

Thanks Vikas, I’m thinking of front-end users where this will be too hard.

OK.
I will consider it for sure.

Thanks for spotting this.

Just an update Vikas, even after adding
to the times – in the front-end, they get stripped out somewhere in the process…

This is something I am also having a problem with in that I am trying to find a solution for end users (only admin users will add businesses) which are not very computer literate.

My idea was to use 14 time fields to allow users to do the open / close times for each day, problem then comes when you have a closed day and a time field or say the business is closed for 1 hour over lunch.

Only thing I can think of as an ideal solution would be a jQuery calendar of mon – fri with time boxes which you can grey out for the closed hours, going to try implementing this myself.

EDIT:
This illustrates my point perfectly.
