I recently installed GeoDirectory plugin on an e-commerce site build for my client and then setup 479 locations in the directory – Kallyas theme (https://themeforest.net/item/kallyas-responsive-multipurpose-wordpress-theme/4091658?s_rank=1)

    http://new.purelenatural.com

After viewing the site (after adding GeoDirectory) I noticed that the plugin changed the permalink structure of the homepage – when going to the homepage it reads: http://www.new.purelenatural.com/places/aries-homepage

*aries-homepage was the name of the original page I modified from the demo install

I also noticed that I can’t find many of the pages I designed when searching for those pages in the backend of WordPress. Also, I noticed that the blog was showing ‘Places’ I had added to the directory, instead of the blog posts I had created (3).

I tried uninstalling GeoDirectory, but when I did so, I noticed that a lot of pages for the website were still missing, including the homepage (aries-homepage) – which I can’t locate anywhere….

    Can you please help?

I re-installed GeoDirectory for now, but now my homepage is not showing up when you first go to the site and I can’t get it to show up as the homepage at all – although, when you click on the menu link ‘Home’ it will come up.

If GeoDirectory is going to change the permalink structure of the entire site, alter the blog and hide pages, then I have to uninstall it from the site and it doesn’t look like we’ll be able to use it. : (

I have no problem purchasing this plugin, but if it messes up the site, we won’t be able to use it.

Please help out with this situation, as my client is at a trade show this weekend and wanting to show the site I created for them.

    All the best,

    James

    Hi James,

I am guessing you used the import section and told it to update from the ID and somehow you had ID’s in the CSV that matched ID’s of pages in your site? If so you would have to find the pages by ID in the Database and change the post type to page from gd_place.

If you can confirm you did something like i mention above then it should be a relatively easy fix. If not let me know.

If you need help fixing it please provide DB access, like phpmyadmin and i’ll help
(though i will be finishing till monday soon)

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

You only really need the post ID if you are updating existing listings, it will overwrite the info.

It makes it quite difficult to fix without something like cpanel access, maybe you can ask for cpanel access?

If I uninstall GeoDirectory and use the option ‘delete all content’ will this also delete all of my pages which have been changed over to places?

For the CPANEL Access, I will request, but it might take some time…

Is there no other way to access the database?

*they sent me the credentials for the database, but not sure if there is a way to access it…

    Stiofan,

Thanks for doing that, I will try on some of the other pages too.

When I go to ‘Pages’ tab in the WordPress dashboard, I don’t see these pages in there now though… I can’t locate them in the dashboard area…

Also, when I go to update the homepage setting Settings->Reading – it doesn’t give me an option for to set the homepage back to the original ‘Aries-Homepage’ – *I see that you changed Aries-Homepage back to a page, but it isn’t showing in the back end of WordPress….

    Any ideas here??

Ok, I just figured out how to fix that problem – I renamed the page to ‘Home’ and updated the URL name to ‘Home’ as well – now it is showing the ‘Pages’ section of the dashboard…

I will do that for the rest of the pages too.

The pages are likely now in the places section.

Let me know if u need more help.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
