I have populated my site with a few sample locations created an “all locations’ page using the location switcher shortcode. It’s working well.

I was experimenting today with changing the name of the Location page slug (currently “location”) to something else.

When I did that, selecting different cities using the location switcher returned a 404 not found error. It only works if I change the slug back to “location”

Does that mean that the permalinks don’t update across all existing records if the location slug is changed?

Did you go to Settings > Permalinks and re-saved the WP permalinks after the slug change. Without doing that the system does not know you changed a slug until you refresh the database like that.

    Thanks

    Thanks Guust

I should have thought of doing that – it’s working now.

Am I correct in assuming that the breadcrumb text for Location can only be changed through the translation file?

    What part of the breadcrumb?
All parts are taken from things like Places and Category names and location names etc.
Some of it can be theme specific too, so you might have to give more detail.

    Thanks

I’m specifically talking about the word “Location” that appears in the standard breadcrumb in the Whoop theme.

Changing the Page title and URL slug doesn’t seem to change the text used in the breadcrumb text.

Yes, Location needs to be changed in the Location Manager language file.

    Thanks
