Grateful for your help in sorting issues as we try to get this up and running, but do I need to raise separate tickets for the other queries I’ve mentioned?

Archive and Detail page taxonomy links will be filtered for the location unless the feature is disabled in the Locations tab advanced settings.

Please clarify the meta information issue. If you have not already, you can adjust GD title and meta settings inside the GD settings.

Thanks Alex. It looks like we’ve fixed the category stuff heading to the main pages rather than a specific location.

The meta stuff was really related to how the listings are displayed (for example under featured listings).

We have modified the amount by limiting it to 100px, but that looks a bit poor, and what we’d really like to do is use the excerpt which would make the information consistent on every listing. The note about meta description related to the fact that GD seems to be using the entire content of the listings as the meta description.

We still have the same problem with location search offering up global alternatives, and now we can’t input anything other than Philadelphia addresses when creating listings, and nor can we add new categories.

I have fixed the ‘Philadelphia only’ problem by re-doing the settings which look to have gone wrong after we activated the redirection plugin to start sorting that out. I seem to remember this affected settings when we were playing before we started adding information. Perhaps it’s a conflict?

But, and I assume it was the same cause, we can still not add new categories. Help would be appreciated.

Please check and let us know. All the items you list are working for me.

I added “aaa” so try searching for that.

I disabled cache for testing purposes. Please try your tests without it and remember that, if you turn it on, you might need to clear it to see changes.

Thanks Alex. The categories seem to be working fine now, and on the home page clicking the categories does now show the whole category, not an arbitrary location.

I’m guessing there was a conflict with the Redirection plugin?

There are still a couple of issues:

We had set it all up just for the UK, and UK was not showing in the urls, but it is still now showing US as an option in the ‘near’ box and the place urls have UK in them. It also seems, if you select what you’re looking for first it goes off to a full list before you can enter a geographic location (home page http://www.carsuk.net/motoring-directory).

We need to add a set of quick links to the home page for ‘Popular’ locations, but if we do that now it would go to /united-kingdom/location, which will all break if it can be put back to how it was.

Edit: I note you actually turned WP Rocket off. We have cleared the cache after every change made, but would you recommend leaving it off whilst we’re working on it?

    Thanks.

    John
