    Hello GD Ninjas,

I’m continuing to sort out how to set up my site using GD and Avada. Some confusion:

    1. How can I add text, additional photos and sliders to the Listings pages? For instance, http://adventurebrevard.com/trails. I’d like to customize the listing pages for each of my CPTs, with text, additional images, sliders and maybe video on the page along with the listings. I’ve read the Listing Page Layout Settings in the documentation but it doesn’t address these questions. Or I missed it.

    Is this possible?

Is this all achieved through widgets?

Can I pull Avada widgets into the GD content or widget areas? Or vice versa, pull GD widgets into the Avada widget areas?

(Stupid question warning:) WHERE are these listing pages living right now? I can’t find the above page in WordPress pages — I obviously missed a step.

I saw a reference (somewhere) to copying the GD virtual pages. Is that how the listings pages are built — by copying the listings page, editing the URL and then customizing using the Avada Fusion Page Builder?

    2. I’d like to include these listing pages in the Avada mega menu navigation.

    Is that possible?

Or are they constrained to the GD nav menu?

Can I include GD CPT categories in the Avada mega menu?

I love all the options that GD offers within Avada; just trying to sort them out and understand.

Thanks for your help, as always.

    Kind regards,
    Marsha

Hello Marsha, and don’t worry about “stupid” questions, there are only stupid answers 🙂

    About your questions:
    – You can use widgets in the “GD Listing Top Section”, any widget can be there, GD and not-GD, everything will appear at the top of the listings page.

    – You can use GD widget anywhere you want, in Avada section, and vice versa you can use Avada widget in GD Pages.

    – You can manually add GD pages in your menu, just look at the url, for example the Trails link above could be easily, just make it point to http://adventurebrevard.com/trails and the same can be done for CPT, categories etc..

GD Listings pages are automatically created from your Place (ot other CPT) categories.
To add pictures etc, use the “top description” of the category: GD > Place category > edit > category top description.
Listings pages are virtual pages, as in they are not real pages as in the WP sense.
They are created from the GD Listings template you modify at GD > design > listings and by adding widgets.
You cannot copy and create new listings page, but you change the coding of the template if you want to (but I don’t think that is what you are looking for): http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/customizing-geodirectory-templates/

For the menu, you can also tick “Place categories” in “screen options” at Appearance > Menus, and then you will be get a list on the left hand side you can pick from, a bit like this: https://wpgeodirectory.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Screen-shot-2014-10-02-at-10.47.10-PM.jpg

    Thank you both.

I think this answers all my questions. Glad to hear I can use interchange the widgets.

I’ll let you know what trips me up next. 🙂

    Thanks again.

    Marsha
