Hi Guys,
We’re still seeing a conflict between GeoDirectory and the AWPCP Classifieds plugin running on our site. They generally seem to run okay together except for the area where users are supposed to be able to edit classifieds they place. The “Edit ad” button just reroutes them to the site home page instead of the AWPCP edit ad panel.
If GeoDirectory is disabled, the AWPCP process works fine. Even with GD active, all other parts of AWPCP work okay (place ads, view ads, pay for ads, etc.). I’ve been working with them for a few months now and they don’t have any further suggestions other than to reach out to you for ideas. It looks like it may be some kind of conflict with ability or authorization for subscribers to access the Ad Management panel. When GD is inactive, “Edit ad” link opens the user dashboard with no troubles.
I really like both plugins but with users having difficulty editing their own ads, it’s becoming time-consuming to handle the requests. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Can you let me know what features you need for classifieds and i will see if there is anything we can’t do by default.
Thanks,
Stiofan
February 2, 2017 at 8:48 pm #354143Pretty simple, I think. Registered users can place classified ads, preview, then approve and pay. If user needs to make a change, cancel or edit, they can manage themselves. Just a few plans based around length of time running and type of ad (Help Wanted vs. Yard Sale), which would make some ads inexpensive and others (personal, like lost and found) for free. Display by category or all, generally looking like a classified area.
I can see how GD would work well in this regard, setting up plans, etc. Only concern or challenges on our side would be understanding the Custom Field capabilities and modifying the display to look more like a classified environment instead of a directory. But we’re up for the challenge if you think it’s realistic. Often it’s helpful to see something else live to get an idea of what is possible.
Thanks!
Ray

all that can be done with GeoDirectory out of the box.
Please see here for documentation about custom fields:https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/
Thanks
February 6, 2017 at 11:41 pm #356155Thanks for the link. Can the classifieds section co-exist with the directory, i.e. running separately at the same time? GD settings suggest/require the selection of a “home” page for the directory (like gd-home) but this environment would need two home pages, right?
I’m not exactly clear about how to direct classified users to classified plans and Directory users to directory plans. Would that be with different landing pages? Do you have any functional examples of someone (or in-house) running a GD as a classifieds solution? Are you able to offer and suggestion at all about how to resolve our original conflict in the meantime?
Thanks!
Ray
February 7, 2017 at 5:29 pm #356422Hi,
you just create the custom post type classifieds and the classified section will be :
yoursite.com/classifieds.
As I said, we can’t help you fixing the conflict with that plugin.
Thanks
