Convert from V1 to V2

    Hi,

    When trying to install the geodirectory lugin it tells me the following

    Unzipping …

    Installing the plugin …

    The folder already exists. /home/…/web/…/public_html/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/

    The installation of the plugin has failed.

    Hi Memorex,

    you cannot install a plugin via WP Dashboard if it is already installed (this is how WordPress works). You must either delete the old plugin and install the new, or overwrite the file in its folder via FTP.

    I have tried it. I have eliminated the geodirectory category and I have inserted the new geodirectory folder through ftp and when I open the web I receive the following.

    This page does not work The page … can not process this request now.
    HTTP ERROR 500

    Are you doing this on a staging site as reccomended?

    No, it’s not a test site, but I saved everything. It was to see how it works. If it is not possible to do it in an online site we will still leave it for later when everything is OK. Not rush. It was only to see the effect of the change.

    It is possible to do it on a live site, but never recommended.

    Try uploading a fresh copy of GDV2. I saw a similar issue earlier.

    Also make sure addons are deactivated first.

    Hi,
    What I wanted to convert V1 to V2. I’ve asked if you can. Alex sent me a link. If I disable the geodirectory V1, it sends me to a 500 error page. I have been told that the geodirectory V2 must be uploaded via FTP, but I can not activate it before deactivating V1.
    What I wanted is to try to convert the Geodirectory V1 into Geodirectory V2.
