Hi, I bought Geodirectory plugin recently and have some questions. I use the newest wp and gd.
I want to create something like this: http://oeds.at/praktikerinnen-suche/What is the easiest way to customize the list, so it doesn´t show pictures and supplies information like address and website, etc. I just want the map and a list that changes with the searcharea that is put in the field. No Detailspage, Reviews, favorites etc.
Is that possible without much programming?
ReneJanuary 12, 2017 at 2:02 pm #341416Hi Rene,
Could you please share your Website URL with us so we could see how your Website looks like? Then, we can provide you some custom CSS to hide the pictures or anything you want on your Website.
Thanks!

I think it would be better if you could fill in some data so that we work this out easily. You can display the custom fields on the “Listing Page” using the “Show in what locations?” option as shown in this section of the documentation https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#custom
Once you’re done, you can use the custom CSS code below to hide the featured image. Insert into Gd > Design > Scripts > Custom Style CSS
.geodir-post-img { display:none!important; }
Let us know how it goes.
January 12, 2017 at 2:58 pm #341435Thank you, that works. But then people would have to put in their information twice (Like address, Email, http://www...) It seems only possible to display the custom fields not the regular fields on the listings page.
I will add more date soon.Best wishes
ReneJanuary 12, 2017 at 3:19 pm #341448Hi Rene,
You should be able to add any type of fields on the listing page. Well, please go ahead and add some sample listings and we’ll review later on. However, if you want to cut this short, you can probably start off with some dummy data https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#dummy
Thanks!
January 12, 2017 at 4:53 pm #341501Thanks for your great help. I am getting there 🙂
Now one more thing. How can I arrange the address in a way that it is shown properly for germanyName
Street
Zip Code City
CoutryAnd I would like to leave out the region. Also in the fill out form. We don´t really use it.
January 12, 2017 at 5:16 pm #341505Hi Rene,
You can just drag the custom fields with your mouse/touchpad to reorder it. http://prntscr.com/dus77v . Which fill out form are you referring to? The “Add Listing” on the navigation menu?
Thanks!
January 12, 2017 at 5:20 pm #341506Hi Rene,
Oh, sorry I misunderstood. Check out this doc https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/changing-the-layout-of-addresses/
January 12, 2017 at 5:41 pm #341540Yes, that doc is good help.
And second… I ment the add listing page. Preferably the region isn´t asked for at all and is not needed.January 12, 2017 at 6:09 pm #341547Hi Rene,
You can hide the region using this option in the address field http://prntscr.com/dusudf . I’d like you to go through this thread https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/how-do-i-prevent-a-user-from-creating-new-listings/ as it explains what you can probably do to avoid users from adding listings.
Thanks!
January 12, 2017 at 11:33 pm #341820Hi,
the only way the region is not asked in the add listing form, is if your directory only covers 1 region.
If you need more than 1 region, it is not possible to remove the region field from the add listing form.
Thanks
January 13, 2017 at 10:55 am #341990Thank you Paolo. Then I have to deal with it.
One more question. Is it possible to change the need for entry of a description. We don´t need that and it would be good if it wasn´t mandatory. Then I also would want to hide that area from the add listing page.
And thank you again Kor. I could change the address format. Great.
Great support.January 13, 2017 at 11:24 am #341993Hi Rene,
Thanks for your reply and I’m glad that helped. Kindly refer to this thread on how to make listing description optional https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/remove-description-profile/
Thanks!
