Couple of questions – Titles, Packages etc.

    Hi there,

    I have a couple of questions, best to ask in one go;

    1.) Yoast homepage title doesn’t work as I set it. Even if I put force overwrite.
    2.) Is there anyway to preselect the package when linking to the add listing page?
    3.) The login page displays my latest blog post title as the page title?

    1. Your homepage is your location page, which is used for every different city and region and country page. I am no Yoast expert, so cannot tell you much else, maybe one of the others can.

    2. You can change the order of the packages and the first one will automatically load or you can link to /add-listing/?listing_type=gd_place&package_id=5
    Adjust as required.

    3. Might have to do with your Yoast settings? I’ll get Paolo to look at your question too. I guess he might want to look at your admin settings, so please post your admin details in a private reply.

    Yoast SEO is unable to overwrite the home page meta title – FIXED

    Also updated at customer’s site at https://whichdispensary.com/

    I’ve asked to the developer to double check. I think it is Yoast that in this case doesn’t understand which title to use.

    Hi,

    we have checked and found that if Location page is selected as Front page and if GeoDirectory home page unchecked from GD -> Design then Yoast SEO homepage title overwrites as expected.

    Can you please confirm?

    Hey Paolo,

    Yes this does work, but there then displays a rather bulky breadcrumb for home > location

    It’s something to do with the setting you mentioned in the design area. I think I can override the breadcrumb on that page with a css edit, but perhaps worth fixing for future updates.

    Hi,

    Stiofan tomorrow will look into this. Currently this is a workaround, but it’s worth adopting it as the standard, now that all the GD pages are actual pages and no longer virtual pages, setting GD home as the website home page via a GD options no longer makes sense. It’s better to use the default WP settings.

    A new home page template has been added which will get around this and a few other problems, it will be in the next version.
