CPT – Articles

Somewhat surprised that Custom Post Types forces a minimum number of fields for every CPT.

What would be really useful would be the ability to add content to a multilocation site that was not ‘directory’ related, but complimented the directory. Such as Articles (a bit like a blog or guide) which allows localised content of interest, that does not require a map point, address, website, contact details etc. For example it may be about the local customs, or hospital care, visas, transportation etc.

Any way this can be done – or is it a ‘hide everything with CSS solution ?
